Salfords Cricket Club is pleased to launch our new “Give 12” volunteering initiative for Club members.
It takes a considerable amount of time and effort to run the cricket club, and with increasing demands for cricket and off the field social events making full use of our wonderful new pavilion, now is the time to get all members engaged and playing their part in building an enhanced club community.
With an increasing cost base across all aspects of life, Salfords Cricket Club is looking at ways of remaining a sustainable sporting and community facility, that provides great value to its members – to do this we need your help!
We are asking everyone to contribute some volunteering time across a wide range of activities that support the running of the club.
What is “Give 12?”
- We are asking Club members to give 12 hours volunteering time a year towards running our club across a number of essential roles and activities.
Why?
- To help create a spirit of community, and a culture where everyone feels a part of our club and jointly shares the responsibility of helping us be sustainable today and in the future.
How?
- In exchange for a reduced membership subscription, you’re asked to commit 12 hours a year, leading or supporting delivery of key operational, cricket or social activities.
- You could help cut the grass, roll the wicket, run the bar, make the tea, run the website & social media, arrange social events or lead fundraising (hours may vary depending on role).
Roles can be shared between multiple people, so please encourage each other to get involved! Just a few hours spread across the year will make a huge difference!
Refer to the attached posters for more information.
The critical committee role of Club Operations Lead is one we really need to fill urgently, so if you want to be at the heart of leading the co-ordination of the club’s off the field offerings – social events, facilities management and running the new club bar and café, this is the job for you!
Please get in touch with any member of the club committee if you are able to help. There really are roles suitable for everyone, so please get involved! The more you help the better our club will be.
Thank you
The Committee – Sanjay, Graeme, Ian, Sohail and Dan.
