Project Phoenix - Update and Next Steps

With the season coming to an end I wanted to give you all an update on Project Phoenix. Behind the scenes we have been working hard to move things forward and a summary of what we have been doing is below:-

• Reviewed the lease with Council and we are close to executing the lease; foundation item required for grants.
• Taken on-board your feedback and reviewed and updated the indicative drawing for the pavillion (see updated diagram)
• Met with Newdigate Cricket club to understand their lessons learnt, other clubs like Capel and Reigate Priory to be scheduled
• Met with the Surrey Cricket Foundation Facilities Chairman to discuss our project further and looks like we are in good shape to start to move towards a pre-planning application
• Worked on developing a Funding Strategy and looking at where we can apply for funding and how we are going to raise the circa £100k for the circa £700k we might need. Our very own Vice Chairman John Musk has agreed to lead the charge for the internal fund raising

Next steps for the project are to get interested members together in Oct/Nov to start to plan the project and to see help on certain aspects. This project needs your help to be successful, so please come along to any of these drop in evenings at the club (please select the date via doodle poll).
