First team triumph at Old Woking
Old Woking 106 All Out    Salfords 107-3
Salfords travelled to Old woking in good spirit after two previous good results and after losing the toss and being asked to field first entered the field full of confidence.
Salfords got of to the perfect start with both openers sent back to the pavilion with zero to their names a wicket each for Besley (1-32) and paceman Atkinson (2-44). Wokings 3 and 4 batsman decided to attack and were looking dangerous but both men went for 16 and 24 respectivly and the score after ten overs was 61-4. Ryan Eaton was then brought into the attack and his impressive left arm swing and seam movement slowed wokings scoring down taking 3-19 from 10 overs with one wicket taken by the gloves of keeper Mark Wood and two excellent catches in the deep by Niro Kahawatte and Salman Shah as wokings batsman hit out in frustration. Salfords fielding all day was first class and a brillant piece of work by Martin Stone produced a run out as the batsman was waiting the result of an LBW decision and was slightly out of his crease while all others were appealing stone from first slip through down the stumps and the batsman had to depart. Spinner Dave Lancaster wrapped up the tail with 2-10 to bowl out the home side for just 106.
Salfords had to face 10 overs before the tea interval and although two wickets were lost 54 runs had been scored. Stone 18 drove anything overpitched and Besley 24 was quick to smash the short ball to the boundary. After tea salfords knew they only had to wait for a bad ball as 50 overs still remained in the game and Salman Shah 14 and John Musk 22 not out scored mainly from boundaries. Tony Palmer 12 not out hit 3 fours in a row to see salfords to a comfortable 7 wicket victory in just 18.5 overs.  This result marks the halfway stage to the season and after a slow start salfords are now looking to take the recent good form onwards and climb up a few places in the table.
