Last ball win at Woldingham
Salfords travelled to Woldingham for the first time in the league and came away with a two wicket win clinched off the final ball. Woldingham batted first and found the going tough against Atkinson and Steward who bowled a tight line. Atkinson twice struck the opening batsman on the helmet and the breakthrough eventually came when Steward bowled Boot for 25. Jamie Hunt 3-48 and Besley 1-36 reduced the home side from 83-1 to 92-4 but then some aggresive batting from Hobbins, Joyce and Copsey excellarated the woldingham innings before a return of the opening bowlers Steward 1-47 and Atkinson 2-42 saw wickets fall and the score rate slow which forced Woldingham to bat their maximum 48 overs scoring 224-7.

After tea Openers Kidd and Beaver carefully watched the first six overs and then lauched into anything wayward and quickly the score reached 82 off twelve overs before Kidd fell for 35. Beaver was joined by Tony Palmer and both continued to score well and at the drinks break after 21 overs salfords were halfway to the target on 123-1. After the drinks break a mini collapse occured as Beaver 54 and Palmer 27 fell and two further wickets saw salfords wobbling on 153-6. But expieranced Greg Van Renen and Tim Tarrant rebuilt the innings and with three overs to go the score was 212-6 with 13 needed. Van Renen then fell for an excellent 48 and the game entered the final over with salfords needing 11 runs. Atkinson hit the first ball for four runs then was bowled next ball. Steward blocked the first ball he faced then took a single leaving Tarrant needing 6 from 2 balls. Tarrant clipped a 4 off his legs and the final ball hit the ball towards deep square leg and both he and steward scambered the two runs needed for a memorable win off the final ball. The win sees salfords placed 4th in the league table.
